POV Video Project
I started off this project by brainstorming ideas of topics I am passionate about which was decidedly harder than I thought it would be, I knew the kind of animation I wanted to do so didn’t want to do too serious of a topic as it could feel like I was belittling it. Also 30 seconds is a long time visual-wise for a video but a short time for storytelling so I needed something that would come across quickly. I liked the idea of something to do with how grim London water is because its personal to me as a northerner who is used to fresh water and its not too serious of a topic but could potentially link to more serious ideas. I started by doing a little bit of research on how earths water was formed and a bit about the Big Bang as I find science really interesting and like the combination of art/science especially in video form.

Once I started making the video I actually struggled pinning down exactly what it was going to be about and where I was going with it, for quite a while I had a bit of an art block I think it was the focus on something I’m passionate about as everything seemed too serious or too silly.

I used a Lightbox for most of the content I wanted for the video as I like the effects of hand drawn stuff especially when its combined with digital/real life videos.

I actually ended up making three different versions of the video as I couldn’t decide how I wanted the ending.
